2012 Summerville Family YMCA Flowertown Festival

The 2012 Flowertown Festival will take place March 30-April 1, 2012. The Festival is celebrating its 40th Anniversary and we have a lot of exciting things planned. We recently launched the official website for the festival, flowertownfestival.org

We are currently accepting applications for vendors in the following areas: business/civic organizations, food vendors. We will be updating the Festival website on a regular basis. Be sure to sign up while you are there for updates via Email, Facebook and Twitter!

New Scholarship Program Announced

As part of the YMCA’s mission to help youth succeed in life, the Summerville Family YMCA offers a $1,000 college scholarship for low-income graduating high school seniors. This scholarship is offered to students who want to reach their God given potential by enrolling at a two-year or four-year college or university and who have had an affiliation with the YMCA whether as a program participant, a volunteer or an employee of the YMCA. 2012 SYS Soccer Parent Orientation

Ages: 3-15

Season: February 18 – April 14

Coaches Meeting: January 19 @ 6:30 @ Oakbrook. Coach

Practices begin the week of February 6 and will be held Monday through Friday at 5:30 or 6:30pm, either 1 or 2 times per week depending on age. Games will be played on Saturdays with the chance of some week night games.

Youth Soccer fees (age 4-15): Members $40, Potential Members $80

Micro Soccer (age 3 only) fees: Members $25, Potential Members $40

SANGAREE YOUTH SOCCER

Where: This soccer league takes place at Ridge Baptist Christian Academy, not at the Oakbrook location.

Ages: 3-7

Season: February 18 – April 14

Fees: Members, $40, Potential Members $80, Ridge Baptist Christian Academy Students $50

Flowertown Run/Walk

Flowertown Run/Walk

Started years ago by Dr. Bob Randall and Doug McElveen, the Flowertown Run has grown tremendously and has become a signature event for the Summerville Family YMCA. Over 1,000 runners and walkers participated in the 2011 10K, 5K and one mile races. The race route takes participants through downtown Summerville, past historic homes and beautiful gardens.
