Volunteer Opportunities

The Summerville Family YMCA is able to thrive based on the efforts and assistance that we receive from our team of volunteers.

Whether you read to children, find items for an auction or conduct a group meeting - you will make a big difference in the lives of others.

If interested in learning more about our volunteer opportunities, please stop into the Wellness Center. We have a Volunteer Application that you can fill out and specify your areas of interest!

VOLUNTEER CATEGORIES
Policy Volunteers: 
Serve on our YMCA Board of Directors. Each member serves a 3-year term. Contact Dicky Miler, YMCA Board President, if interested.

Program Volunteers: 
Sports - volunteer to be a coach

Child care - volunteer to teach our children, read them stories, lead a small group

Gymnastics - volunteer in our office

Child Watch - volunteer to read to the young children

Fund-Raising Volunteers: 
Help prepare and organize our fundraising special events, like the
Flowertown Festival, the annual Run and the Gala & Auction. Contact Linda Walton, Special Events Director, if interested.

Managerial Volunteers: 
Assist with the management and administration of the Y by contributing your special skills in accounting, architecture, public relations, etc.

Support Volunteers: 
Help out in the administrative office, in the locker room, in the Wellness Center, on the sports fields, child care and in many other important ways.
